The Significance of the song:
First 35 submissions for SHOOOT Fiesta 2009 (S$30 for locals and USD$50 for international category) will be waived when submitted through Express In Music.
- Any form of music that you feel is appropriate for games.

- *Selected composers will be given “Exclusive” project partnership with Express In Music for clients who require game music
- Chance to perform live at SHOOOT Fiesta 2009 in collaboration with Live Virtual Music Performance (Tokyo)
- Top prize to Japan, Tokyo

- Honors the best short format film under 1 minute in length.
2. BEST LONG MACHINIMA
- Honors the best short format film under 5 minutes (at 1 minute) in length.
3. BEST 30 SECOND TVC MACHINIMA
- Honors the best film featuring a branded service or product.
4. BEST ORIGINAL MUSIC
- Honors the best original music in a machinima film.
5. BEST GAMES MACHINIMA
- Honors the best machinima created from any 3D game.


So its #4, best original music in a machinima film.

The official entry form just states Best Original Music though.

There's 2 interpretation then, music score within a machinima film and just any darn song.

Correction, officially the award is for best music in a machinima movie.

Thus its not a song competition. The music has come with a movie. So you got machinima movie makers but they got no composers? Also shouldn't the music match the mood of the movie?

thanks for ur reply ATW, the Machinima movie makers have their own music composed when they do their movie/games entries (for sub-category 1, 2, 3 & 5)

so yep u r right that this call for music is classified under sub-category 4...it is simply to honour original song compositions suited to the gaming industry itself...basically instrumental

Means must be part of the movie. No?
