Here to share, interview of the highly controversial vocalist of gogoroth...And no, im not preaching abt Satan nor im an anti-christ, watch it as entertainment, a lesson or just plain curiosity of how some musician life can really be...He can be either acting or maybe is he the real deal in this interview....u be the judge.

YouTube - True Norwegian Black Metal - Part 1

I watched this some time ago, and had a nice laugh. We need more black metal musicians.

i watch the last part of the vid, where the guy say "Can you guide me??"

and Gaahl went BLANKO!!!!!....Freaking hilarious....

Q: "Something to do with the Fuel behind their music"
A: Satan

Q: Your thoughts on these events

we have to remove every trace of Christianity

Q: What does Satan Represent :
A: Freedom

"Satan is freedom for the individual to become a superman.
Every individual that is born to be king becomes king.
every man who is borned to be a slave doesn't know Satan"

He did not stone. I think he realized what the journalists and producers were really trying to get out of him.

Nifty isn't it, you finally invite some people to share what little you have and then they make you a laughing stock.

No one, regardless of race or beliefs deserves that.

have to understand these guys' background, they believe that a religion that was not theirs was forced upon them

he is a little batshit insane, but I think the interviewing crew had a good intention. And I disagree with your last statement ken, I think scientologists deserves to be mocked and laughed at.

edit: religion has always been forced down our throats, by parents...society, culture and what have you. Doesn't make it right to burn buildings down, but some people get off on that I guess

+1 to your insight and +1 to the norwegians, regardless of the rightness or wrongness of their defiance, at least they gave the balls to fight back against control.

Well Dir,

i don;t think their intention was as pure as you think. The way they cut the "film" as well as the leading nature of the questioning.... well you have your view and I respect that too.

I do see what you mean but nothing's really 'pure' anyway these days, even in documentaries or music interviews, and with the programming on most network channels and shows like MTV, impartiality is very rare. There's always someone looking to profit from the situation. Especially in a genre such as black metal, where controversy is a huge or dare I say a main part of it. However if you look between the lines or frames, I think the show is basically to let normal people try to understand what black metal is and I think it does fairly succeed to a certain extent.

but man... to live your life 24/7 totally immersed in black metal culture, that requires a special kind of sanity.

You are definitely right on the point when you say nothing is really pure after all, even filmmakers have their partiality.

Part of the fault also lie with Gaahl being so forthcoming with guys with a commercial affiliation while being a lot more curt with a more independent film like A HeadBangers' Journey. Do catch that one as well as Don Letts' documentary called Punk Attitude... much better insights.

nt all religion are forced down our throat bro.....

as for them, burning churches, hanging sacrifice during performance and other Unorthodox belief that they came to learn and embrace, it seems they take it to another level of Satanism.

Just because something has always been done, doesn't make it right. How about slavery? Women's rights? That same argument was used when those issues were in full force not much more than a hundred ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gaahl sees himself as a freedom fighter along those lines, in fact I'd bet on it.

I'm not saying that burning churches is right- destroying other people's property is irresponsible and downright criminal.

But I do believe that Gaahl deserves his right to his view, and that from his perspective, it does make sense.

Hahaha ok this one is just short and sweet. I think the one that really came out like clowns are the other black metal guys on this film who were drunk and started swearing at the interviewer.

Haha i think you are refering to Necrobutcher of Mayhem haha ya he's damm drunk quite funny though the interview...

Haha, yeah Necrobutcher was drunk in that interview.

But otherwise... For fans of Gorgoroth(like me), I don't think Gaahl's behaviour is of any utmost importance. The music is the deal.

But to think about Gaahl's views, you cannot DENY he's doing the wrong thing(although burning churches is really a crime). It's his views. His perspective.

Or even his religion.

Now, what's so wrong? I don't understand why people are so... Unaccommodating.
