G&L ASAT tele bad QC?

I was at yamaha music plaza checking out the G&L guitars, in particular their Legacy (strat) series, when i noticed something glaring abt the ASAT (tele) guitars.

on more than one of the ASATs there, the bridge pickup ashtray did not entirely cover the pickup routing beneath it. so, near the edge of the ashtray, you can see the hole where the bridge pickup is mounted. very bad alignment. 8O

i know that it's not supposed to be that way, so i think it's pretty atrocious QC. i noted that they had stickers like "inspected by J.R. Kim", so must be Korean made then.

anyone care to do another evaluation on this to reaffirm or correct me?

yes Chronicles you're right, they are the budget line of G&L, made in Korea. after some research, i found out that although the Tribute guitars are assembled in Korea, they use original USA G&L pickups and bridges :D

nice

"Tribute sets a dramatic new standard in the popular price range by bringing unique G&L features and standardized CNC quality together in a surprisingly affordable line of guitars and basses. With genuine original equipment G&L pickups supplied by the Fender Avenue factory and authentic G&L bridge designs"

but that gap between the ashtray and the pickup routing is still disturbing

yea, i hear, i generally know of that tribute series guitar and basses tend to be VERY VERY good, have read uber good vibes on them everywhere around.

however , the legacy series is the one that some people have issues with.

woo . . . very very good. me myself not too sure, gotta check out. original G&L arent cheap. Im interested in the one with the special pickups (like what some bass guitar have on them)
