Folks, I would appreciate some recommendations for a Fretless bass, including where i can obtian it..i.e. Ebay/dealer etc etc.

Let's say that the budget can be between $1- 2k used.

hmm ken.. dont think i m really qualified to be suggesting this but there has been this very very cool bass that has been circulating around on talkbass...

the fretless bass with retractable frets.

absolutely no idea where, how much and what it is but i sure think it would be a very very unique bass to add to your collection.

the trb5 at guitar connection is pretty damn nice man. too bad the working man amp they have at the shop is crap. someone messed with the electronics so it's all highs and no lows. but the trb plays damn nice la.

wah, checked out those retractable fretable fret basses....US 5000K!!!!! Jeez....

Hmm.... i dun trust stuff at guitar Connection man.... very dodgy....

wow.. its ok la.. depends on their mood, see whether they intro u good stuff or not.. but to me, i find that they're quite honest about things if u talk with them for abit..

agree with ken here...

my friend once did a setup with them or something.. ended up with his LP being damanged... he was seriouslly pissed

@ken ,

it would probably the most exclusive and unique of all basses :P

really... hmmm. kai chin is quite ok with setups maybe it was some other guy who did the setup.

i think it's not so bad is you deal with kai chin. he's an okay guy i guess. kelvin (the boss with the bluetooth earpiece) is very business minded.

there's a brice 5 string fretless at g77 if ur interested. from rondo music i think.

yeah Kai Chin is a cool guy. But he dun own the place lah. Brice is not to my taste, neither is a purple G & L!!! heh.

Nvm, will look slowly, won't need it till May actually.

it was so dodgy i got doged by them before ... i can tell the whole story if you guys want me to .. =) ..

anyway .. the Brice at G77 is really nice.. okay, to be honest i don't really play fretless so i can't define a good fretless sound. But i think the main thing about fretless it's the mwah factor i guess ...

me thinks this is a nice bass for display purposes even though it looks intimidating

hmm...

dunno whether you would be interested in this but alot of talkbass people have been giving these good vibes.

hope you would be interested in these.

prices range from 399 USD to 599USD and upwards for custom instruments. i dont know why the prices are relatively inexpensive but they have excellent build quality and workmanship according to those who have played around with them.
