I am not really a big classical fan by my CD shopping habits, even though I am trained in classical instrument like most schooling fellow music students in Singapore and in many years of music instrument training, practise mostly popular classics pieces.
But this CD is really a bargain deal, Made in EU, and just listening to the album, anyone who plays some music will know a good deal of production effort has gone into this album, but it is only selling for S$18.95 at HMV !!!!(fyi, this CD is in the classical section so that this newly release very likely to be missed by pop CD fans)
This album is definitely worth more than any pop label album. You are buying a prodigy violinist level of virtuosity playing, using a 1718 Strad, and with the various creative arrangements and superb playing by David, you will be sure to really get blown away like most people who first listened did.
David claims to be a rock and pop fan too.
There are a couple of compositions arranged in different music genre styles, and a couple of traditional classical music, e.g. Carmen, Paganini, Rimsky-Korsakov's Bumble Bee, pieces rearranged and tastefully recorded with a very contemporary music style.
I wonder what would rock fans think about his Toccata....
