flying v or lp

some info pls if ud like us to help. like the basic things u could provide us with is what brands of flying v or lp are u comparing, what kinda music do u play and all that kinda stuff. else dont waste our time.

I second Penta-Tonic, it really depends on your playing style. And, its a little easier to scale the high frets on a V than a Les Paul.

apa playing style?
metal guys can use strats.
jazz guys can use SG.
pop guys can use flying V floyd rose.

i think u talking more of image rather than playing style.

both guitar also will have neck diving probs, but i think it's more prominent in the V...

i think playing style also affects slighty of wat guitar u're choosing, in general rather than weirdities like jim root..tele's r preferred for country etc etc, n usually u wun see a blues guitarist play wif BC rich's metal range guitar..

Les Paul. NAO.

On a more serious note,

What music are you going to play?

Tell us more about what you want your guitar to do for you!

We can help but we need info.

no experiences in long usage of lp,but the v,
(in my opinion) who's neck dive is so great,
i got irritated, yes you must support your neck throughout your song
or gig and think about it.perhaps i may not be a strong person
but i couldnt take it and sold it off.the v's sustain is pretty much admirable
compared to the guitar that ive tried but playing when sitting is a hassle
im sure everyone knows that.

i personally think root for what you think
after much reading up and youtubing some videos
is the best for you.no one knows your sound better than you
do.any guitar can be played a certain style,
there's no limits to what a strat,tele,lp,v........... can do.

i cant sleep.

for les pauls, im not so sure about the current gibson models, but those that are non-chambered won't give you the neck dive problem, i have not encountered one yet. but you are gonna have sore shoulders playing a heavy les paul for long hours. imagine 4kg strapped on your shoulder. those chambered ones might have. a les paul and v should give you somewhat the same tone, except that the pickups onthe v are hotter than the les paul. if you are talking about gibson, the lespaul std uses burstbuckers, which are meant to give the paf tone. but the v uses 496R in the neck and 500T super ceramic in the bridge. both are high output pickups. also, the lespaul uses rosewood fingerboard. while the v in white colour uses ebony, which gives you a brighter tone.

other than that will be shape preference on your part. hope this helps [:

Flying V is better when u play offen standing. Les Paul is good when u sit offen.. I prefer Les Paul is the sound is thicker. And u have more choice of picking different model. Its also depends on ur budget.
