heys guys..

do you know of anywhere that i could actually test to fit and buy a floyd rose bridge?

hope to get it around $50-$100

pls help thks^^

im only trying to get licensed floyd rose. not the original FYI

bro what do u mean by test to fit?

install already ,test out, see if want or not? want buy dont want un-install?
if that's the case i doubt anyone out there would go through that trouble but from what i know sv/tymc others im not sure but those 2 are selling lisc FR

changing a floyd (unless to a direct drop-in replacement) will involve some modification to the guitar typically either routing the cavity or changing the studs which are either difficult or permanent.

Plus you have to consider the labour cost not just materials so even if you say you don't want it after testing it you will have sunk some cash on that.

If you wanna change out your floyd get a gotoh at the very least not some cheap one. Don't go to all the trouble and end up with a potential dud.

Anyway, you can try Novelty Music. I think you need to bring your guitar there if you want to measure fit. Not sure how much it cost to install but the FR set is around $70, I think.

They carry the same LFR as Ranking Sports. The one designed like the FRII looks sturdy.

i meant that whether the shop can allow me to take the floyd to drop in my guitar to check fitting

Actually there is an alternative. You could post a picture of your guitar body especially the cavity for the FR. Or if it is a big name manufacturer guitar, the model number would help.

There are not too many models of FR designs around, esp for licensed models. I think experienced SOFTies could help you identify.

You mean like this?

Post your pics. We'll help you out as possible. Best to cross over to Project Guitar appreciation thread. More DIYers around.

it's a lot of work to put in a floyd if your guitar has the 6 screws type bridge. why not try a wilkinson [got 2 point type or 6 screws type] + better nut?
