flood @ orchard road

It would have been cool if someone would have brought a rubber boat and sailed down the orchard stretch.
What a sight that would have been in the news. one could literally swim to the office...

Was in Aljunied at that time and it was raining donkeys... so was already expecting floods to occur somewhere in S'pore. Just didn't expect the floods to be that bad!

my colleagues were all talking about swimming in the mrt trains at orchard station.

there was a 1999 study which concluded Orchard Rd would never flood

one of the boutique shops hit by the flood was Massimo Dutti, a Spanish company, then later in the day, Spain was beaten by Switzerland 0 - 1... premonition... he he...

i almost went there with my mum to buy some stuff. but cancel, coz my mum fell asleep.

if i were there, in a shop at the basement when the flood occur, i would grab as many stuff i can hold as fast as i can and run away when everybody is running out of the shop.

while watching the news yesterday evening, i was completely shocked to see corpses actually floating around in the waters outside the shops.

....then i realised they were all mannequins...

if those were real corpses there, the authorities would make sure it won't even rain @ Orchard Rd next time...

This morning's news: iPods and iPads looted from a shop in Orchard.
Some people really have no shame. The devices were swept from their low-lying shelves and some people just helped themselves to them... Right in front of the shopkeepers! Ugly side of Singaporeans?
