First Electric Guitar Buying Guide

the configurations for the pickups depends on your choice for music as well man, no one else can decide for you, you gotta do the listening!

yea that's true u listen and choose the guitar and not let ppl choose the guitar for you or let the guitar choose you

Thats true, you gotta go down to find the right tone/guitar.But ts is new to electric guitars so im sure that he has no clue on what kind of sound hes looking for thats why he posted for help right?
Anyway i would recommend the squier strat more versitile imo.
But yes the configurations you gotta decide for yourself.

oh if ur looking for the epiphone speical ll i have one to let go
its ebony color, only a few months old.low action setup done by mike at SV.
strings changed to erine ball super slinkys.

City music has a no. of nice packages as well, plus the amp they're giving is pretty good for a beginner IMO go check em out too

he just have to listen to the sound and if he likes it he likes it no one can tell u that this is not the kind of sound you are looking for only u yourself. My samick artist series guitar sounds much better than ibanez JEM 7V can u tell me that i'm wrong? i'm always right because it's my ears not yours.

yes i know that.No one can tell you what kind of tone is for you.
And i already pointed out in my previous post that ts needs to go down to find the tone he likes.

But cant we give him some models to choose from so that we can narrow down hes choices? Instead of giving him unconstructive advices like "You need to pick your own guitar,we cant decide for you"

Defeats the purpose of having this thread if you ask me.
Hey and i ain't flaming you or something man chill.you sound like your about to explode.

ok you win *explode*

Thanks all.

I think everyone has made great points. You guys have dramatically narrowed my choice of guitar, which is what I want. And I am going to the store, to look for these models:

Epiphone Les Paul Special II
Ibanez RG series
Squier

Amp: I will settle with Roland Cube 15x

Then I will play it and see if I like them. I don't really like to ask the seller because they tend to convince you to get more expensive, in which I am just a beginner.

I don't know how to differentiate electric guitar sound. So I gotta try it out. If you ask me about acoustic guitars, yes, I can differentiate it very well.

Many thanks to all. I greatly appreciate your comments.

if i were u i wouldn't pick that guitar up...seriously. =3= get a new one i think it'sa also 200 plus? if not get second hand.

Aguitar with no strings is worrying

oh man...please don't get the Epiphone "nothin'special ii' or any epiphone below 500. you'll just hate it.
The squire would be a better choice.

Actually it's all up to the ppl some ppl , some actually like the epi specials =/

never tried the epiphone before but if you're looking a les paul lookalike, try craftsmen LP copy. They quite a lovable guitar, good sound and plays well. Good enough for a beginner guitar. had it once and thinking to get another one to fool around wif, only thing with the craftsmen is that the construction is quite fragile. Gotta be quite gentle wif them, or am i just too rough? ahaha

How about Rally Singlecuts? If you 'looking' for the shape. Haha
