firepod - no singal, need help!

OK. i got my firepod. i got the mics n everything. installed all the programs.. only thing is... i have 6 channels used out of the eight that i have. i can hear all the mics thru my headphnes and they are working.. phantom power is on. .. but the program cubase LE... when i follow the booklet that come with tthe firepod.. i select a new audio track ^ infact. and i can record on two of the six tracks.. all the mics work.. but only two .. the first two. mics 1 and 2.. have the input meter react.. the other four dont... HELP... and with cubase sX3.... the input meter doesnt even work help !! this is buggin me and i am tearin my hair out.. or wads left of it now !!
channels used on the firepod. 123456/ 1 snare, 2 tom , 3 tom, 4 bass, 5 overhead 6overhead.

did you try to record? when you playback, is there signal on the 1,2, 3,4,5,6 track?
 
under settings, you should be able to allocate your inputs from the firepod.
if you only see 4 pairs of inputs : e.g
#1 : channels 1-2
#2 : 3-4
#3 : 5-6
#4 : 7-8

most likely there's a setting to set "L or R" like e.g

#4L = channel 7

#2R = channel 4.

take your time figuring out, and read the manual (of firepod + cubase) well. it's all part and parcel for a new DAW/soundcard.
