firecracker and popcorn snare

Those are actually specific Pearl snares. If the term 'popcorn' or 'firecracker' is used by other manufacturers or sellers, it's likely to refer to the size, usually 10".

Maple 10"x6" Popcorn Snare Drum

The Popcorn snare is a delight to your aural taste buds. Inspired by the drummers of Memphis Tennessee, the Popcorn produces the super tight "pop" sound favored by many. The M-1060 Popcorn snare features a 10"x6" 100% maple shell for rich tone and extreme loudness. The 6 ply 7.5mm shell offers outstanding durability and the dependable Masters lugs and 2.3mm SuperHoop II steel rims permit high-tension capability and extended service. The Popcorn is available in super high gloss #102 Natural finish and features precision-fit Stainless Steel tension rods and solid brass receivers for incredibly smooth and precise tuning.

Firecracker Snare Drums

Pearl is known the world over for making some of the finest snare drums in the industry. And when a drummer is ready to experiment with different sounds, usually the first thing to change is the snare, the cornerstone of your kit. If this sounds like you, Pearl's FireCracker Snare drums offer Pearl quality and dependability without breaking the bank. FireCracker snare drums are available in 2 unique shell configurations, 8 ply Poplar finished in gleaming Ebony Mist or lustrous classic Steel. The 8 plies of Poplar provide a solid, powerful punch with warm balanced sustain. And if it is brilliant attack and unyielding resonance that your crave, the steel shell is your ticket to ride. Both of these unique shell materials are available in 2 sizes, 10"x5" and 12"x5".

I have played my friend's firecracker. It really cracks but the problem is,the snare is too small and u feel like playing a toy or something. Definitely an auxilary snare.

wad do u mean crack?i remember testin a firecracker snare and it went pop haha...btw wad is the cheapest pearl firecracker and popcorn snare?

nobody got any to recommend?

There's nothing much to recommend actually. I mean, only Pearl makes em. Unless you're talking about stuff in the same sizes, you can find some PDP 805 popcorn-sized snares on ebay for pretty reasonable prices.

For pearl, evidently, the FC is cheaper as it's either poplar or steel. the PC is maple + masters lugs + 2.3mm hoops = more than S$400.

The FCs are about S$170 without shipping.

You could technically make your own though, there's someone selling his rhythm traveller tom, 12x5. haha, would be cool.
