Film Music: How would you response to the use of "unexpected music" in movie?
Hello everyone, I have been wondering whether expectation will influence how an audience react to film music.
For example, I watched the movie Marie Antoinette (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WjsqVwWyrI) and it is a movie that took place in 18th century era. The music that I expected to hear was classical music but the music used in the movie is punk rock and i was surprised.
Thus, i took this opportunity in school to research about this. I composed two different piece of music to be synced separately to a same clip from Saving Private Ryan. And here is the link to the questionnaire.
