Our views will most probably not be the same as yours.
What's yours? No guitar is better than the other, only your preference.

What's wrong with the fender?

nothing wrong but hv always a sweet spot for prs.. :-)
both are mahagony body wif flame maple top but se is flat top and no coil tap.
i dunno if any differance in sound.i prefer the fat sound.

Yeah, PRS gits are such beauties! If like me, you've always wanted one but never could afford it when younger, but now that you're older, wiser and can afford it, why not live the dream? You'll need to try it out for yourself first though...

For me, the Custom 24 I tested looked spectacular, but didn't feel quite right. Lacked a certain "robustness", but maybe that's just me lah...

i like the chunky sound of gibson but can i get dat kinda sound on other brands of guitar? or type of pickups for my fender to achieve dat sound?

I've been lucky enough to play several PRSes including the Custom 22.. and I will honestly say you're not going to get a Gibson LesPaul tone out of that guitar. It'll be close in terms of getting a more vintage sound (vs the Cu24s).. but PRSes always tend to have a "polished" tone to them (can't speak for SEs)..

You should probably head on over to Davis to try it, to see if you like the tone.. No point buying something that you're not looking for?

Chunkiness on the PRS... definitely! I still keep my tele.. along side my PRS, still want get the twang sometimes.

PRS is one guitar I would really love to gel with but I can't for some unfortunate reason. Granted their woods look great but I can never play one for hours. For me, being a Gibson and Fender fan for the longest time, I can't really classify PRS guitars as a class of it's own. When I play a Fender, I tell myself yes this feels and sounds like one. Likewise for Gibson. For PRS, it's really a neither here nor there kinda thing. It's good yes but not exceptional. 10 tops, artist packages, modern eagles signature models etc. no matter how many I've tried, I could never really fall in love with one. visually they are appealing to me but I would prefer to buy something to play. I would not shell out $2500 for a Custom 22/24 but I would readily shell out $2500 for a Gibson LP Standard. At least I know what to expect from an LP but PRS to me doesn't have that definitive character.

overall I think they are fine guitars but if I had the money, I'd buy something else. For the SEs on the other hand, I think they are well made guitars and definitely worth considering if you are looking at say an Epiphone LP standard.
