Fender Precision Standard Bass

should be around 700. or rather SUPPOSED to be. i know one of the fender dealers really inflates their prices.

by "fender precision standard" u are probably referring to a MIM. fender japan produces p basses within the same range but nothing MIJ will be called a 'precision standard'.

not to hard to find them nowadays

thanks to Fender's recent price jack, the price in the US is already USD550 for an MIM Standard. dunno if it costs that much here. just go to Swee Lee and check with them.

don't hesitate to pay a bit more on your bass. as long as it is worth (sound, quality, aesthetics)

and $700 for a P bass is already a good deal as I have seen some of them them being sold for 1k.

I always believe in this
Good bass = makes you play it more = you get better faster.

and I always prefer getting 2nd hand basses, because usually brand new ones, you have to do a lot of setting up before it becomes comfortable for you. 2nd hand already comes with some cool mods(pick ups, preamps) from previous owners and action is already set for comfortable playing etc. and I believe that musical instruments get better with age hehe

imo $700 is too much for a MIM Standard. just top up a bit more and you can get a MIJ, which should be much more worth it.

+1 to everything he said. but tbh i thought Fender P basses are quite ex? 1st hands would cost 1k+ for the Americans ones.. not sure about Japan though

if anything go 2nd hand. aquanaut is selling one at the buy/sell section for a reasonable price. home delivery too.

K, I got my new Bass Gear already. A Cort Bass guitar. I went to WoodWicks and they told me the only precision bass they had available was this and that it was from the same factory so I decided to give it a try. Turns out it wasn't really that bad. Heh.

Now all I need is a punk rock band...
