Fender Madnezz @ Bras Basah Showroom

Im puzzled that nobody wants MIJ Fender. They're quality is also top-notch. Thinking of buying 1 if im able to sell my JS1000.

subby already said. for prices call swee lee. hes not working for them neither is he at your beck and call. and it saves us the trouble of misquoted prices.

nt realli, mi fren's ex bought her mustang bass frm sweelee, and it was mij, really curious eh?

the Jap models @ swee lee are the selected ones available in the american market- the reason why there are no ST models & such.

I saw today that Ranking sports have placed their MIJ fenders up at the main glass panel in their shop... wow looks like an upcoming price war perhap???

There are 2 types of MIJ guitars from Fender seen in Swee Lee & other shops (eg. G77, Ranking etc).
Those that you can obtain the info from the official website: www.fender.com are for international market.
The ones that you probably find in Ranking Sports are domestically made for the Japanese market that were parallel imported to Singapore.
Which also means that if you are planning to re-sell them in the future, it'll be as easy as the international models as they are not 'officially' recongonized internationally.
But if you are just buying it to play and not to consider it's future value, it's afterall still a good gear to go for.
I was told that Japan Fender (the domestic ones) are just a 'licenced' maker from the real thing. Correct me if I'm wrong. :)
Cheers.

yes, you're right. these are the very people who handle the Ibanez Prestige models. in any case, the make, fit & fitting are superb...

Great...! customers always win

Hmm.

Is it me or is the tele fast becoming the new strat? LOL nice to see an under-rated guitar getting its dues after so long.

the tele gets limited exposure compared to its strat brother + it gets bogged down in the 'country' genre too much...

I never thought of a tele as a country guitar, there's something attractive abt its design although it is pretty minimalistic and utilitarian. It is one of the guitars I aaiming for...GAS never ends

tele gives me the impression of being very old... but then if you look at some rock bands... i can't think of many right now but i know stone sour uses a tele... almost the entire band used teles during their recent single(i think)... it's been around way longer than strats right?

I like teles for their fierce tone, but it seems too minor a consideration to buy a whole new one. I feel like trying to remake the sound on a strat, but I have no idea how to get that sound... :?

Try EQing away that honk inherent on the Tele. U'll be surprised at the results. Sounds jus like a strat.
