Hi guys, I need some of your advises. I was looking at ebay to try to get some new gear, and I saw 1 second hand fender japan jazz bass standard model which cost about 740+ with free shipping. I was so tempted to get it.
Can anyone suggest to me whether is 740+ is a lil overprice for a second hand model?(according to the seller the manufacture year is ard 2007+2009.)
Thank you for all the comments.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, that is one of my concern as well, i hope I can directly get a bass locally, but I didn't find much shop carries that model most of them have the JB62 Which is over my budget.

I believe Sound Alchemy as well as TYMC can help you order in a new piece if you're interested.

That price for a 2nd hand is ok, not the best. Not too sure about the standard J basses but the standard strats go for about 900 plus.

My experience with eBay.. They will say 'free shipping' but that usually applies locally.
Last time i check at TYMC, it was 1k-1.2k. Can't rmb the exact price.

Yeah the free shipping depends on which country you're in. If you're looking at the US ebay and not the SG one, then it won't apply. Shipping a guitar over will usually cost about $200+

I tried 2 different 62 reissue Jazz Basses at Guitar Connection. One made in the 80s one in the 90s. the one made in the 80s definitely had more punch than the 90s one. maybe it's the pickups? then again, both are stock and the same model just made in different eras. I've come to the conclusion that the tone for basses vary more than guitars when it comes to specs.

That being said, I don't like the idea of buying something I didn't try. What if I got a lousier sounding one and got disappointed by it even though it's the dream specs that I want.
