Hey guys, what r ur opinions on this 2 guitars? wad are the diffs among both of em? do u think it can handle many diff sounds/ genres? Is it versaitile and a good guitar to buy? Just would like to hear you guys opinion on it. thanks!

well for the jaguar there has been an issue with the bridges that come with the japan models.
Easiest way to remedy: replace the bridge with the mustang one and ur set. Intonation and tuning problems settled.

YEs!
haha not rly a metal dude, at the most some iron maiden.

Thats why i wanna know about this guitar, haha. anywhere u guys know sell mustang bridge and how much, and how much would be the setup?

o ya, keep ur opinions on de guitar coming! haha

Hey! I have a Jaguar and I can get nice metal tones as well. It's all about the amp, as well as pedals to a smaller extent.

I hear the best bridge replacement is the Warmoth modified mustang bridge...

I love Jazzmasters. I think they're the coolest looking guitars on the planet.

I have an actual '59, it's still my favourite guitar. The specs however with a vintage were never too hot...the 7.5" radius neck and the original vintage frets, plus that damn bridge that everyone loves to hate. A refret job, Duncan SJM pickups and a Mustang bridge later, and a kicking setup by Malcom, and hardly any issues there - plays as good and fast as my best Strat.

The new reissues address the past issues somewhat with a much more player friendly 9.5" neck and medium jumbo frets, a tuneomatic type bridge and higher output P90 type pickups -

Classic Player Jazzmasters (probably MIM) http://www.musiciansfriend.com/prod...aster-Electric-Guitar?sku=518687&src=3SOSWXXA

I'm curious to hear how this sounds - the specs seems for all purposes similar to the J Mascis signature model (except for that strange purple glitter finish and possibly the pickups).

If you can though, the '62 thin skin reissues with the modern 9.5" neck and 6105 frets specs are DEFINITELY the way to go. a lot of guitar for the buck.

I've got a limited '59 thin skin reissue headed my way real soon...Looking forward to see how that stacks up against a genuine '59.

the previous vintage american reissues never really impressed me much, and i positively loathed the Crafted In Japan jazzmasters. horrible - fake pickups, lacquered and unfriendly neck, tiny frets - yikes.

Hey Guys, Wat do you think of the new, release in May 2008

Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special
Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special

Quoted from Wikipedia.org :

In May 2008 Fender introduced the Classic Player Series Jazzmaster, which is made in Mexico and sells for under $1000. Fender have made numerous changes to the classic design, however, replacing the bridge with a Tune-o-matic type, giving it a 9.5" fretboard radius, moving the tremolo plate closer to the bridge and installing high output P-90-type pickups.

kinda cool heh... wad r u guys opinion? im a bit worried about the "MIM" tag anyway... hopefully its good

Im planning to get The Classic PLayer Jaguar in HH by august. Anyone who here tried one already? Maybe a lil review shud be helpful for us. =)

so did anyone get the classic player's already?
interested to know, how it plays and sound with the enforcer pups and the new bridge design.

chino moreno from deftones used a jaguar and a jazzmaster at times.
mike einziger uses jazzmaster and can still get that heavy tone playing live from their heayvier early incubus era albums.science, make yourself.
they're versatile guitars.
works for most genre's.even metal.
and metal doesnt have to be chugga chugga jeng jeng !#*@$@(%,or emg's.
korn uses big muff's to boost their mesa's.
crazy shit.
but its really up to the guitarist.
just an opinion though,
:)

i might get a CP HH jaguar or a jazzmaster at the end of this year, or next year. however, i already have 3 guitars, all fenders, and it would be such a waste to add another to my arsenal. i can't bear to sell any of my guitars. and maintenance of 4 guitars would be a naggy b*tch. and to add to that, i would be joining our nation's beloved national service next year, so less time to play any of the guitars.

oh, by the way, i hear that changing the bridge to a mustang bridge helps to prevent the strings from slipping out, but there is a trade off, where the tuning stability is sacrificed. is this true?

that didnt happen to me hatecrew..
i'm sure u know that the bridge is a rocking bridge design..
what i did was to push the mustang bridge forward/upwards towards the bridge pickups.. it will stay in place, unless u use force to try and pull it back, backwards. that said, u know how our jags need constants care and maintenance to get the best out of them. let me know how u're getting the cp's .. the internet?
and good luck for ns.. gosh, i'm 27 and i'm already feeling old. haha
