Hey guys, this guitar listed for 12,000USD. Ownder said it is 100% true blue pre cbs 1962 strat. This is what the owner said about the guitar.
"This is a very nice early 1962 slab board stratocaster. It plays and sounds fantastic. It's a few flakes of paint away from being vintage mint. The original owner bought this guitar brand new in early 1962, played it for a couple of years with flatwound strings, then put it under the bed. I bought it from him. There is light wear on the cowboy chord frets, and that is as bad as the fret wear gets - all the frets are very clean, original, and have years of life in them. The neck heel has a pencil date of 12/61 and the headstock has 2 patent numbers which is correct for a 12/61. In 1962 they added another patent number to the headstock and started using stamps on the neck heel instead of pencil around April. This is the earlier 2 patent number headstock with pencil neck date. The pot codes are visible in the photos below and are all from 1961. The solder and wiring is all in tact and in excellent original condition. The pickup winding wire is shown below - the overall condition of the electronics is excellent. The neck plate "halo" matches the paint halo on the body. There have been no oversprays or touchups. The pickguard has some typical wear by the truss rod screw but is otherwise very clean and is a nice evenly colored mint green. The volume and tone controls are smooth and work as they should without scratchiness or drop outs. The bridge is very clean and all the allen screws work well and allow for nice setup and intonation. The original 5 tremelo springs are there. The neck is medium shaped, not a big one, but not tiny. The slab rosewood fretboard is in excellent condition and the clay dots are also excellent. The original ashtray bridge cover and tremelo bar are in excellent shape and are shown in the pics below. The guitar is a wonderful player, the action is low and without buzz, the intonation is good, the pickups sound great."
