feedback+humming sound.

Hey guys.
I have a podxt live.
i play it with a guitar that only has a single coil.
So what i'd normally to is to plug the guitar into the pod, n plug a headset into the pod.
However, i would get feedbacks and humming sound. this is definitely not due to grounding.
I was thinking that the humming sound may be due to not having humbuckers on the guitar. but the feedback?
oh yes. i get the feedback when i drive the volume/wah pedal to the max. But there should not be any feedbacks right?
Much help would be appreciated.

Feedback:

1. Gain too high
2. Pickup too near string
3. Magnetic influence at pickup
4. Your picking hand covering the pickup
5. Your guitar not grounded properly (check tremolo claw, see if the earth wire is there)
6. You have a X2n equivalent of a single coil
7. Your pickup is an active EMG

Hum:

1. Pickup being single coil
2. Pod not grounded
3. Faulty pod

Feedback + Hum:

1. Pod too near magnetic sources (transformers, etc)
2. Your pod is trying to tell you that you are hurting its ears

how close do you stand from the amp.u need at least a 1m of spacing or it will feedback.if it does just roll ur volume control back cos it can spoil ur speaker if it feedback too much
