hellooo guys. I have a problem with my voice, i cant get to my falsetto. everytime i try to use my head voice i will switch to my chest voice for more power, because my head voice simply cant be heard in the mic at all.

this really irritates me when i want to try to add different dynamics to a song.

do u guys have any exercises for me to get a more powerful falsetto ala ryan cabrera?

listen to justin timberlake vocal..that is a good example of falsetto.Usually when a singer cant hit the higher keys or pitch, they will use falsetto....most of the singers nowadays usually guys, like to use falsetto in their singing for higher pitch...its the easiest way to singing at high pitch...

My understanding of head voice is where you can still hear the "buzz" of the vocal chords touching, but it's much weaker and lighter than chest voice. It feels like the sound is being generated in the head, although it's actually still the vocal chords making it. Technical descriptions I've read say that only 1/3 of the vocal chords are vibrating, instead of the whole length of the vocal chords as happens with chest voice.

Falsetto on the other hand is when the vocal chords don't touch at all. It sounds very "airy" and hollow, and you'll notice that the buzz is missing. But I think it has the potential for a lot more power than head voice, which is why it's popular for male singers.

Vocal registers seem to be a topic of debate though.. here's an article which seperates head voice and falsetto (and also "mix" voice) as I've described:

Try humming like an ambulance. It will increase the vocal and help improve your pitch... Warm up your voices with some yawning exercises... before you practise falsetto.... Falsetto is similar to headvoice but they are not the same.

I dunno wat falsetto or head voice.

U hear wang lee hom? hes the best example n by singing most of his song shld be able to.

For me i train my projection n diagphram to be powerful enough. So even after i hit falsetto high pitch, i still use my projection to push air out of a high pitch. So it wont be heard liek "type puncture" lol

Just from my humble experience...

Oh ya edited... if u r chinese u train these 2 songs by lee hom "ni bu zai" and "liu lei shou xing"

Well, increasing your vocal range and strength is easy. Just keep doing lip rolls on a range (from your lowest comfortable pitch to your highest comfortable pitch; piano's the best help here).

Going up 5 notes then back down (include those flats/sharps); then increase this pattern 1 pitch at a time till you reach your max comfortable pitch/note (don't force).

How to do lip rolls:
Use your index fingers from each hand and lift each side of your cheeks (the fingers will be on your cheeks, over your wisdom teeth). Then blow air through your lips so it sounds like a thug boat/motor's engine/similar.
