Faded Vintage Pickups- how to clean?

hey,

im using a SG 61'reissue. the pickups and bridge are nickel, so they're faded to make it look like the original vintage guitar. however the fadings pretty bad and uneven.. is there a way to clean the fading off?

will polish be okay? is it safe to polish the pickups and the bridge?

my experience with polishes, when you do it once, you gotta do it again and again. leceh lah.
