ok i got this problem. i got this excessive ringing coming from my Snare and Toms. is it due to tuning, drum heads or something else. I;m using a pearl rhythm traveller and using the stock heads so ya. btw traveller tom's dont have the drum head(or whatever its called) at the bottem of the toms. is this the cause of the ringing? anyway to solve this probem? like recommend me some new heads or anything. hope to hear from u guys soon.

cheers

oh ya if you feel tt would cost too much.. then use tissue and tape it down.. put anything soft on and tape.. haha its the stock heads right? so wun be so heart pain.. haha

Depending on the size of your toms.

Shldn't cost more than 70bucks for a whole set of standard drum size. Check them out from Music Theme or from Swee Lee.

personally i ahevn tried o rings. but i think save time and money la.. use the tape method!.. haha i'm doing tt! ;D

ahaha plainsman humsup ah thinking of rimming alr. 8)

anyway to thread starter, might be due to the fact that you're using stock drum heads, and the fact that you probably didn't tune your heads well enough.

overtones are perfectly fine because if you want a drumset that doesn't ring, you should use cardboard as your drumheads.

check out http://home.earthlink.net/~prof.sound/ for a guide on how to tune properly.

i'm not against muffling your drums slightly, but if you need to use execessive muffling on your drums to make it sound "good", then you probably aren't tuning right.

all the best!
