I was enjoying a clip the other day on YouTube, of a performance by Ronin at the Esplanade Waterfront. The one with the accoustic performance. What's the song title by the way? I like that song a lot.
Then I drifted to some other clips of Ronin performing in a library or something and the comments were like fag band lah, cannot make it for Singapore if this is the best they've got lah, whatever shit lah.
Well, I know this world of ours is full of people with very low self-esteem, who are severely delusional or just utterly ignorant (common characteristics and traits of racists, I think) but I just notice that people nowadays appear more disillusioned with life and can't seem to see the positive side very well.
Why do you think this is so? Is life so stressful that they have to resort to such avenues to vent out their frustrations, join the fracas and play the blaming game?
Since most of you here are musicians - do you think friends of yours who are fellow musicians fare better than those who don't play (or even listen to) music at all? Do they seem more happy and relaxed in general?
I mean, I still very much believe in the goodness in people. Just that I feel more and more people are taking the stances of I-am-better-than-you instantly and form biased perspectives and build walls around people who are different from them, people who take the routes less taken.
I would really love to hear the stories here, of your daily encounters, in your daily drudgeries.
