i would really suggest you try them out and see which feels more comfortable in terms of fretboard size, body size, body shape, weight etc.

there are a few things you need to consider.

- Having a KH2 or VMNT does not make you sound like Hammet or Mustain automatically. They also use kind of expensive amps and effects.

- Does the price of the guitars match your skills, e.g. for the price of a KH2 you could buy easily 2 or 3 very decent guitars (see for example the epiphone prophecy series for metal) and/or a decent amp

- In the KH2 vs VMNT question you need to know which shape is more comfortable for you. For example I don't like the V shapes because when you are sitting the superstrat body fits you better.

In any case if the money you intend to spend is a substantial amount for you then be sure you have tested both guitars before thoroughly.
If money is not an issue then you buy both ;-)

Some other things to take note of.

the ESP KH-2 has a floating bridge, drop tunings and other alternate tunings will be a huge hassle, so personally I will like to try to stay away from these floating tremolo guitars whenever possible. Unless you really want a floating bridge then of course it wouldn't be a bad point.

The Dean V has a V shape, it might neck dive when playing standing up. This is definitely one very vital thing to take note, as it will really affect your playing. Of course if the neck dive isn't too serious, you can use a strap that has more friction/grip like a leather one or something.

But I would have gotten the Dean one because of the design :twisted::twisted:

no guitar....even the most expensive one can teach you how to play....so obviously man....its not becoz these guitars are costly.....its just coz i always wanted to own a signature....n now as i can afford the VMNT or a used esp kh2.... i wanna fulfill my dream...:)

with that budget you can own a much better guitar in terms of playability and tone. ive always wanted a hide signature guitar too, but i always ask myself, is it worth the price for a signature when i can get a suhr maybe?

ok, then here my straight answer: Signatures are usually not worth the money, you pay a premium on the normal models on which they base for having the name and maybe a slightly different paintjob. once you own the signature the initial hype will fade away quite quickly.

if u really like kh series its basically an M II series i think then u just get it custom painted
maybe wif swirls :)

if you ask me, i will choose the dave mustaine signature. because it features the duncan dave mustaine active pickups... and the signature model of KH got EMGs only. I don't think it's really worth it to get a superstrat with two EMGs and a floyd rose for 2.5k. Between those two shapes, I will prefer the V shape although I never tried one before. But it seemed very comfortable when you want your fretboard to be very close to your face when seating down.
