Hi there,
hope there are some goths out there that might enjoy this. As with Alec Empire - can't afford to bring the whole of Covenant here- wished I could get them live, but the best I can do is grab him on the way to australia. Do support
Love,
Saito
COVENANT
DARK FRIDAY
Putting Singapore Back on the map of Global Dark Alternative music culture.
Come Friday, October 3rd 2008 , Eskil Simonsson of immensely popular Futurepop Trio Covenant (Sweden) will unleash his DJing talents to a rapidly growing demographic of industrial, EBM, futurepop and electro fans for the first time in Singapore. The lead singer, songwriter and programmer of the consistently chart topping group will be sure to thrill his dark audience with cutting edge tunes during this seminal stopover before commencing his Australian tour with the band. October 3rd also represents the Record Release party for IMATEM’s "Journey".
IMATEM, a musical project by Peter Spilles (project pitchfork), combines the experiences and the energy of some of the most inspiring musicians and vocal artists of the gothic/electro scene. ‘IMATEM is a JOURNEY, and its destination is still unknown’.
The uninitiated will find the musical sensibilities colloquially referred to as ‘gothic trance’ or ‘hard floor’. Yet familiar alternative anthems are likely to be played amidst new, groundbreaking releases with local deck surgeons Saito Nagasaki (Aesgrade), DJ Mentor (X’ho in a guise) and Murderfreak in tow.
As the event is a social imperative to promote the culture, only a S$10 cover will be in place for all patrons.
With the success of the inaugural ‘Dark Friday’ installment at Bridge on 5th September, SDAM (Singapore Dark Alternative Movement) have consolidated the only bonafide Gothic/Alternative clubbing experience at a new haven, drawing considerable attention as the new mecca for Dark Alternative Music in southeast asia, having previously hosted Nik Panic of the notorious Slimelight goth club in London to the delight of a full house.
Dark Friday has also attained international sponsorship from German Publisher Netmanagement who have remained staunch in their support since the Machines Against Hunger launch global launch by SDAM on Friday the 13th June 2008.
Being a friendly enough establishment to relinquish one Friday a month to the alternative social collective, Bridge Bar / Legends @ Orchard has adapted quickly to the grateful denizens, serving up $15 absinthe shots and providing a cosmopolitan outlook on the sheer aesthetics presented by them.
