Ernie Ball VP JR HELPPP

Hi everyone, i have a 250k passive Ernie ball VP jr, i have been using it quite often now, and when suddenly one day, as i was practicing, loud crackling noises were heard (sound similar to plugging the jack into the guitar when the amp is not muted.) , and my signal suddenly has excessive hum. I've read that it may be due to the pot, and may need some contact cleaner to deal with this. I am a total noob at all this electronic stuffs, can anyone please help me? :/

probably a solder joint came loose somewhere, dont think its a pot problem.. if there are crackling noises or intermittent loud/soft volumes while using the pedal, then its probably the pot.

BTW nick, you might want to put the vol at the start of the chain as its a 250k model.

i place it after my drives lol. But, it works well with my current set up leh. I just used some contact cleaner on it..so far...nothing wrong yet, can't try it now

There'll be nothing wrong. But it works better by virtue of the impedance levels..
