Ernie Ball gets raided.

Sounds like a mafia operation. The BSA raids Ernie Ball for using "unlicensed software". Immediately afterwards, microsoft sends out flyers for discounted software. All the more reason not to support these mafia goons who participate in the BSA, i.e., Adobe, microsoft, autodesk, etc.

EB's boss was so PO'd, "Enraged, CEO Sterling Ball vowed never to use Microsoft software again, even if "we have to buy 10,000 abacuses." He shifted to open-source software, which lacks such legal entanglements because its underlying code is freely distributed."

as long as EB products are not effected. but den again i dun buy EB stuff so....nvm and wat is BSA?

BSA is like the mafia of the software industry. It's an organisation fronting companies like microsoft, adobe, autodesk, etc that go and raid small companies for suspected use of unlicensed software, and send them huge ransom notices.

They almost always target the smaller companies that don't have big legal muscle. You'll never see them go near HP, IBM, etc even if they may be suspected of using unlicensed sw.

Yup .. just use a mac... they give their developer tools FREE~

even if they raid you for pirated software... its gonna be gorgeous Pan Asian
Nurses in white and they just tie you to a chair and tickle you delirious.

ANd Ernie ball paying $90,000 for something like this... OMG...

they make great guitars.... im gonna have to get an Ernie Ball guitar.. out of respect.

and ofcourse mainly because i ..soooo...soooooo regret selling my Luke
haizz....

heh, aint it funny when we can voice out strongly on against piracy over music and instrument, but when an instrument company uses unlicensed software, they can be kvlt figure of somesort?

hehhehe...

* sigh * it isn't about breaking the law or pirating software.

You have 100 MP3's you got from your friend. The MPAA/RIAA raids your house. Then Sony BMG, Warner, etc comes knocking on your door offering you "legal" music. They also throw flyers all around your estate (think Ah long san) threatening others not to end up like you, better buy from them right *now* or else..., and paint your name, address etc in the lift, etc.

The music publishers and the so-called "neutral third party watchdog" are in cahoots. To add insult to injury, it turns out the music publishers are actually paying this so-called "neutral watchdog organisation".

Apply the same analogy to the software industry, this is where the BSA comes in. They are microsoft's stooge.
