check the serial number using the guitar dater thing..
also can show the pics to fellow softies and ask for comments and check the tone, usually the tone will be very fake if its an imitation due to crappy wood used..
i dont think most imitation companies would bother imitating epiphones anyway,.. imitating gibson would give them good money...
what model do you want?
if you're keen, i did a lot of research and tried out a couple of SGs..
my hunt was finally over when i settled with the faded SG..
price wise, around 640 bucks if im not wrong..
here's the review.. the list price is the price offered by swee lee before their usual discount..
and one more thing.. swee lee provides MIC epiphones..
people bash MIC epiphones a lot, but i suggest that you let your fingers do the talking..
try it out, and be contented with what you want!
be assured that the MIK epiphones are no longer in production..
so if u can get your hands on one, consider it as a priviledge..
MIK epiphones are expected to be of higher quality than their MIC counterparts..
and its a well-known fact that resale value for MIK guitars are wayy better than MIC ones..
i personally recommend the Faded SG G-400..
anyways, good luck on your search!
