Hey guys, what do you guys think of Epiphone's all solid range of Masterbilt guitars?

Lets start a discussion about the Masterbilts.

Brendon's bringing in some but i'm not sure when it'll arrive but sure looks good to me, be it price to quality ratio in terms of the construction, but i've never tried one before though, never seen one in singapore either.

It'll be great to have them available in singapore. The clips I've heard online are impressive but Im sure we can find something thats almost the same at a different price.

They have a sexy headstock for an Epiphone.

I've heard raving reviews about the masterbilts as well..

i'm getting one from Brendon. Cant wait!

Really must thank Brendon for that

Jon Chan from Plainsunset uses one for his solo stuff, for the last 2 years.
I've used a couple for acoustic shows at Esplanade.
PRefered the masterbuilts over Gibson range.

yea. but haviong a PU preinstalled is for me btr, cause it's like mo0re.....natural lol? plus if a PU is install esp onb a high end one, that particular PU is definitely tested to suit that guitar.

Getting an after-market pickup installed is preferable because you can (i) purchase a guitar without a barndoor for the preamp and (ii) avoid piezo quack. Many acoustic-electrics with factory-installed electronics tend to exhibit such issues.

I'd recommend the LR Baggs RTS2 or K&K Pure Western Mini if you're interested. $220 and $180 respectively with installation (Google, search 'In Singapore' and you will find the necessary details). No drilling required, fully reversible, and no significant piezo quack. Those pickups sound 'natural' to me.

thanks for the insights ppl. haha. still i wonder about their prices (the epi's) wonder if it can match a custom acoustic full solid bodied guitar price =D

masterbilts should be plus minus the range of $900 to $1k plus.

The ultimate decision still lies with the guitarist himself.

just an update, brendon of bgw has brought in 2 ephiphone masterblit. looks beautiful, though i'm not much an acoustic player
