There's loads of bedroom producers and DJs in S'pore. Go to Exitmusik and you might have a higher chance of finding them. Cuz peeps here seem more interested in metal and shredding. It will be hard for you to find compatriots here.
Electronic music on the whole, is about programming. Though 'live' elements can be added to a set, fundamental sounds are 'programmed' rather than played. It can done by putting every note and beat together in a sequencer or simply by arranging samples to form a track.
