SO what does a band from Singapore do in Sydney, Australia? Why, gig, of course.
The Oxford Art Factory was where Electrico (I was going to say “Electrio” but of course, Dave, Des and Will were joined by Masashi Kimura onstage so bang goes that joke) played on Tuesday night, along with two support bands from Sydney.
And by general consensus, the crowd – which included drummer Maurice and singer Melissa Mariasson, two of the best people to have in a band, trust me on this I played with them in Meltlove- the show was “great”.
Although one person said: love”A little bit loud for me. The levels sounded much better when I was in the toilet. But the band are really good musicians, really nice stuff.” But that was my uncle, who counts among his favourite shows The Eagles and Il Divo, so there you go.
Anyway, by general consensus the crowd loved the music and onelovesheila – that’s a slang for “lady” and not her name, although it could have been her name, I don’t know – even liked Desmond’s joke. (”Why don’t cannibals eat clowns? Because they taste funny! Drumroll please!)
After the show, the band headed off to the Gaslight, which incidentally leads me to the other thing that bands like to do when they go on tour: Have a nice drink with somelovenice company.
One of the people making up “nice company” isloveOlivia, who’s kindly posted up some nice, looks-even-better-than-mine shots of the gig on her blog. Check them out here:
