Hi, sorry but this has probably been asked alot of times but i still cant decide on an electric piano that i want to use .. so far ive read people saying yamaha and roland keyboards have got better sounds as compared to korg or whatever else there is ..

im not looking for a synthesizer .

To sum it up i want a piano that can perform like her roland RD700GX is way above my budget .
my budget would be $500 - $3k ? (Needs weighted keys)

Im a 21yo male .
Im looking for an electric piano not for performance , i do it as a hobby . Classically trained , own an acoustic piano ($4k+) but currently its not at my place , probably wont fit in my current room also .
Last time i played it was maybe 4 years ago , right now its only me and my semi-acoustic guitar . Looking forward to get my hands on the keyboard again , just miss the emotions that comes with playing it , its just not the same with the guitar .
Would want to use earphones as i play late at night. I also own a Toneport UX2 , hoping that i can get something that can connect directly to record on my laptop.Built in speakers are not important but would be a bonus to have.
I want quality sound or else i wont feel like playing it !

Thanks !

If you are not going to perform and using only at home, you'll probably want a digital piano and not a stage piano (ie not the Roland RD). The main difference is built-in speakers vs no built-in speakers.

I would suggest Yamaha P series. CP300 is a little higher than your budget, but it's one of the few stage pianos with build-in speakers. If going for budget, then Yamaha DGX series.

I would recommend Yamaha for the touch, since you are already playing acoustic piano. Higher end P series have excellent touch; so does the CP series.

Roland FP series are not bad, but you won't be able to find one to test out in Singapore. FP series, being a digital piano, has built-in speakers (unlike the RD).

Those who like Korg goes for the SP series. But Korg has never been my personal preference for touch and acoustic sounds (esp piano).
