Steel which goes under cryogenic process which change the atom or molecule to somehow make them last longer. Personally, I don't like them. But you are encouraged to give it a try though.

yep... and as for bolt ons like strats... errr... don't try .0012 or more on em... 8)

er, i believe u refer to 0.012 gauge of strings? 0.0012 is going to be really tiny...

anyway, why should .012 strings not be used on strats? to the best of my knowledge, strats have been known to handle that sorta gauge, even to the point of using 0.014s and higher in the case of SRV. but since SRV had bass frets etc, we'll not use him as an example.

think vintage strats, i.e. those from the 60s etc. in that era, they were definately bolt ons, and 0.011s came as standard issue i think (correct me if im wrong) plus if 0.010s are considered "light" in angmorh terms, and strats came from ang-morh-land, therefore its safe to assume that the average ang-morh strat came with at least mediums (0.011s)

also, just a side note, hank marvin, a noted strat player, used 0.011s at least, and liked 0.012s on his strats.

Okay now i finally got all my doubts cleared.
Thanks alot guys !

Hmm, anyone here could recommand Amps for noob ? Maybe should say starter ba.
Gonna get first electric guitar and an amp. Budget for amp is around $200.

electric guitar strings

Since you are a beginner, i suggest you use a set of .9, its easier on the fingers.
and you'd better to use soft or Folk style strings that are steel wound on the lower strings and (usually) silk on the higher note strings. They have a more mellow sound to them,
Hope it could help you
