With $700 you can buy the Fender 60th anniversary Edition..
I would recommend it coz I too have one..

as this is beginning to steer into the Fender camp (no offence, i own Fenders...), there are other good guitars to appease your $700 budget. perhaps SOFT's review section would help you...

yeah i agree with u sub, 700 can get u smth stylo besides fenders.
don't just go for brand, go for a sound u love.
if ur insist on fenders, i suggest you could head down to guitar77 at peninsula plaza and try out their fender japs. it goes for 850(before *special* discount) with a choice of vintage pups or dimarzios. i sure u can get it at 700 after talking to kerr or dennis =D

I second the 60th Ann. great guitar at an even better price. It's also a collectable.......value might go up in the future. I generally dun really like fenders but the 60th Ann. and the ST-72 are the exceptions........i love the tone frm these 2. And if u dun mind looking for other brands, ibanez and cort(swee lee) and Timbre(Standard Value) might be gd choices. I've heard the timbre b4.......wow sounded like the ST-72! At like $200+?!!?!?!?
