EHX stereo electric mistress bypass problem

i own an ehx stereo electric mistress

i'm having a problem with the bypass. you see, when the pedal is powered, the bypass is fine. but when the pedal is not powered and bypassed, the signal distorts.

anyone has any idea what's going on?

for those who are not aware, the SEM is digital, true bypassed, and only works on 9v dc (no battery)

hmm.. might not be true bypass leh. they always say it is, but it isn't so. liars!

i was reading something about the definition of 'true bypass' and lets just say it's been used and abused by manufacturers. bah

Thank you for purchasing the Stereo Electric Mistress. It does not have true bypass, it has a high quality buffered bypass.

which proves wrong almost everything i've read about the SEM bypass. oh well, a high quality buffer is supposed better than true bypass anyway, so it's a good thing
