Egg Crate Foam/ Egg Crate Mattress Foam

Good afternoon all.

Im new to the forums. Been reading the threads on here for quite some time now after my friend recommended it to me.

Anyways I used up my entire budget to get a Yamaha Gigmaker kit. I currently stay on the 10th floor of a 12 storey HDB.

I know that egg cartons are bull when it comes to soundproofing. Carpets, blankets, double windows, drywall, rockwool, building a bass platform etc are out of my budget for now and I have no interest in using mute pads.

To cut the long story short, I read that egg crate foams do help a little for the sound? If thats true anyone know where I can purchase it?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I remembered hearing from someone that those foams do not help to soundproof but help to treat the room acoustically. Your best bet in soundproofing is building a room within a room and carpet flooring.

You could try using brushes or hot rods instead of sticks? Apply something on your heads to "deaden" the sound? If you don't want to spend money on soundproofing, you'll have to do something regarding the volume of your kit unless your neighbours don't mind!
