Effects Return Question

Hi, i have a Sansamp Tri-ac. Therefore i would have to plug into either a PA or through a transparent amp to make the sound better as it is made to model some amps.

I saw people writing about plugging this pedal into the effects return of an amp from "harmony central".

However, i have no idea how is it being done. I know there is a "send" & "return" port. Can i just plug from my pedal's output to the "return" while leaving the "send" empty?

e.g Amp's Return> reverb> Delay> Tri-Ac> Tuner> Wireless---Guitar. ( is this possible)?

Using the effects loop

I've heard many people say do this: Guitar->Tri-Ac->Amp->Delay->Reverb->Amp

i thought its supposed to be guitar straight to amp. the effects would be plugged between the send and return.

I have no clue to which wuld be better. But i am just wondering if sound can actually come through if i just plug my whole chain into the effects "return" but the the effects "send". I appreciate the replies... Thank you!
