Ok softies i have a vintage 1980s RG350. made in japan and its a real beauty.

here's a link to ibanez catalogs http://www.ibanez.co.jp/anniversary/expansion.php?cat_id=173&now=1

ok so i'm here asking my RG350 holds an edge 2 tremolo. and somehow. it just cracks after playing for 28 years? so yea. i need to get it replaced.

the new RG350 batch uses the edge 3? can this be fitted into the old 1980s edge 2 slots? they look the same but i can't be too sure before i chip in money for this baby.

thanks!

mate thats not an edge 2, its a floyd rose II. im not familiar with it, but its probably a lower end model. its not likely you'll be able to fit any edge trem in there, look into getting an OFR - original floyd rose..

darn. ok. are these original floyd rose out of production? cause mine was made in the 1980s and i'm afraid that these babies are gone. hmm but this is just my side project. so not really a need to rush it off and get a new bridge. thanks though

imo just get a stable replacement bridge. no point paying so much just to replace a part. its not exactly collectable to start with. if that bridge belongs to a lower end model of the RG series, chances are its not as stable as the legendary trems like the edge or lo-pro edge. if its meant for playing, get an OFR replacement or a gotoh/schaller if it fits.

hmm. yea. true. but this guitar have survived 28 years dude. =p but yea. i'll have to look for those replicas? hmm maybe i'll just drop by sweelee and ask and try if can fit =p thanks!

haha. they are know to shock people at the counters. but yea. i have a 1k budget on this baby. lol. if u were having a thought of why i'm spending so much. cause this guitar survived 2 generations o.o! my dad then on to me. yea. no dings no cracks no nothing.

that is quite a huge budget you have there. the best option is to discuss with someone who is experienced with these kind of restoring stuff. probably a shop to seek an expert's opinion? although your budget is around $1000, try not to spend too much. if you were to score one off ebay, this entire guitar would most definitely cost less than $1000. you could use the remaining money for other guitar setups too.

at that budget yeah you could probably just get the whole guitar off ebay for the trem since you want to keep it original. those 350s shouldnt go for more than 300us i reckon
