Ebay fake Boss DM-2?

yeah, looks like a fake to me. the DELAY word is so small, very unusual. plus the knobs? LOL.
if it's an authentic one, how the hell did he keep it so mint?!

I can actually see a little rusting in one of the pics...but I can't tell if it's genuine or fraudulant...I'm not into pedals, lol.

the words are not small.. its the same size as the all DM-2s. its just that the knobs are different. i dont think it is fake.

Possible that it's not a fake, but those don't look like the correct knobs - every DM-2 i've ever seen has two old style large Boss knobs and one small 'one in the middle - not these weird-ass ones in the pictures. Absolutely no mention of the knobs in the advert.

actually the word ' Delay' is small - at least smaller than it is on mine... :) ...of course, mine could be a fake...

dont you think the pictures look edited? especially the "Delay" word. the strange thing about it is, why would he change the knobs if he intended to keep it in such mint condition and not play it?

anyway, we wouldnt know until we see the guts of the pedal  .

The knobs are definitely not genuine. He probably got it 2nd hand already with those knobs.

I dun think its a fake. Fakers usually want to sell overseas where it's harder to get back at them.

Plus 100% positive feedback and he's got a legit looking address.

Still, it does look in very good condition compared to mine... and mine's not a fake... it's too beat up to be a fake...

Anyway, the pedal is sold now...

its a DM2 with replacement knobs.

who on earth would go through such lengths to fake a DM2??? :? siao ah?

yes, i agree with u mark. i cant help but to think its a fake every time i see the delay word, its indeed smaller as compared to the other DM2s.

"who on earth would go through such lengths to fake a DM2??? siao ah?"

Not necessarily. For $285 USD - about $440 SGD, it might be worth it. DM-2s are *highly sought* and getting harder to find. Wouldn't even be that hard to fake - get a casing from any cheapo 3 knob Boss pedal, some closely matched spray paint, perhaps some cheap ass delay circuitry rehoused from a FAB or Danelectro or something and sell it to someone overseas...

What I find suspicious is that there is no mention of the differing knobs in his advert text. *Obviously* they are wrong.

FWIW, I think it's probably real, but bought from someone else who replaced the knobs by someone who didn't know they were wrong.

Incidentally, a quick search of Google reveals that many other DM-2s have the smaller 'Delay' word so that is not necessarily a giveaway. On my DM-2 the vertical of the 'D' is in line with the 'O' in the word output and the left side of the 'y' is in line with the left of the word input.
