E.C.Strat

i believe its more of business related issues rather than personal peference...

Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton switched to the new noiseless for their Signature if u realise. Leaving only buddy guys one with it....

If i'm not wrong the current noiseless are the newer models...

When i watch Eric Clapton on ARTS CENTRAL (10pm every monday), he would use his new strat... His crossroad one.. damn cool.. with open pole piece.

one thing i feel which is good to share is that even though the Jeff Beck series guitar comes with the Noiseless (or Lace - earlier models) pickups, Jeff Beck now personally uses the stock fender pickups. and if i remember correctly, he uses the Lace pickups during his recording of "Guitar Shop".

I went to Sims Swee Lee this afternoon. There are 3 EC Strats there - 2 of which have Lace Sensors - List is $3800.

hehe. it's a bit too ex. why the interest in EC strat? dont find it too special for the value it's at.

why not the EJ strat instead? Get him to sign it for u during concert.

woo... good thinking. but also not cheap. :)

better still, after the concert, hang on to his leg and beg him for his used guitar...

he's currently busy with the Cream tours right? :P

would like to see a DVD of them doing the good ol' stuff again man.

hi, turtlemuscle
u try going here:

http://www.ishibashi-music.com/fenderjp/st5495ls.htm

its not listed as eric clapton model. but check out the specs: gold lace sensors, mid boost circuitry, maple V-neck. that's definitely eric clapton. but maybe its "not an official" eric clapton model.

Definitely Eric Clapton! So value-for-money... WOW!

Guys, I am currently working on a MIJ (not limited to Fender Japan guitars, Greco and Caparison are also included) consolidation project. I know that it has been done before by the SOFT user stars, but this time round it's gonna be better.

List of things to do for this project:
1. Educate my dad about guitars and a little about the industry (thank you to stars and milkmesto, for the valuable information!)
2. Convince him to work with me on this project (I believe I know how... Tell him that the project is beneficial to the Japanese economy)
3. Find a freight forwarder and its FCL rates (Full-Container Rates)
3. Source for "click-&-mortar" shops that are near my contact points in Japan (Ishibashi seems to be one of them)
4. Launching it right here, at SOFT (probably in Dec)

Just to let you guys know, my dad & I are japs (haha thor666, I think I have to spill the beans at this point in time)... My contact points are family members and my father's friend in Japan... I am doing this because I love value-for-money guitars and I'm concerned about the stale guitar market, and I hate overpriced stuff. A freight forwarder's FCL rates are MUCH cheaper than courier services. I am not free for till Dec because I am working as an intern, so be patient, alright? :)

More details coming up in the future... I hope this works out... 8)

Yes... Dec!! Take the MIJ, of course! lol... I am very sorry to take such a long time... My internship will end on 2nd Dec, after that, poly resumes. If you have friends who are interested, tell them to join SOFT! Like they say, the more the merrier! I think a 20-footer is needed for everybody's guitars. Swee Lee is gonna hate me for this!

Hmm... Japanese brands I recommend are (in no particular order):

Fender Japan
Tokai
Greco
Caparison
Burny

There's Jackson Stars, if you're interested: http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/webshop/guitar/jacksonstars/index.htm

My dad works in the timber trade, no he doesn't supply wood to any guitar brand. So I have to learn & educate him at the same time, lol. And work with his friends, lol.

Your huge support will be appreciated! This is highly dependant on it!Thanks!

hehe... i long suspected u were at least half-japanese... the language is so hard to learn by non-japanese. ><

hmm i'm going have to say I won't be participating in the MO even if my GAS is outta control... getting a new guitar within a week or so... won't have $ by December.
