duncan custom

Duncan Custom is decent. Another pickup you might try is the Duncan Jazz. Very clear, ringing notes. Supposedly good with heavy distortion too.

Or, the Duncan JB. Well balanced, just the right amount of highs mids and lows, incredible sustain and you can pinch harmonic until your fingers drop off. Think Iron Maiden.

Second paragraph, 3rd and 4th words.

hmmm i a bit loss.
are u teasing me because im unaware of using the wrong word?

It's as simple as this.

The JB can tahan your heavy riffs. As well as the Custom. In fact, alot of SD pickups can take heavy riffs. Just ask your friendly Yamaha tech.

pretty much any pickup can hadle high gain, it's a matter of hearing what you want out of them.

to ba fair, if you test a pickup, put all EQ settings to neutral/ 12-0-clock, then you'll hear the true nature of the product.

the JB is not quite trebly, but midrange excessive. if you are into metal, Samoth (ex-Emperor/ Zyklon) has a Jackson RR with the JB humbucker in it.

i've the Custom/ Custom Custom/ Custom 5 with me in 3 diff guitars (all Ibanez actually). the Custom is a very hot '59 to say the least. i has a very similar EQ setting to the '59 but has more to offer in terms of harmonics & picking sensitivity. the Custom handles low-end, distorted tones very well. in fact, it has an inherent deep voicing that many bass note peddlers will love 8)

i used to have a SD custom custom...
found it to have too much mids.. it was my bridge pickup.
the JB is very nice..

the Custom Custom has added treble no doubt, but it sounds nice in guitars with an inherently deep voicing, which most set neck guitars do. have it in my Ibanez SZ320...

Iron Maiden uses JB's and Hot Rails.

The JB really is a beautiful pickup. I just got mine yesterday and I"m in love.

Or you can try the Custom, Custom-Custom. Both work well, for your heavy riffs.

i currently am palying on factory pickups which are ibanez v7 and v8...apparently they were modelled on the dimarzio evos....but ofcourse evos must rock big time:D...anyone got evos???
