ds-1 question

hi. i've seen some guys selling and wanting to buy the ds-1 which are MIT and MIJ thing, from what i've known it means Made In Taiwan and Made In Japan (right?), what is the difference between the pedals which are being made in these 2 countries? :?

MIJ ones are considerred by many to be better sounding than the MIT ones. And MIJ ones are no longer in production as Boss has shifted its operations to Taiwan.

One was made in japan and the other was made in taiwan. Japan being further up north and futher east.

One was made by people who don't speak japanese, the other by people who don't speak chinese.

One had to be flown from japan to where it is now, the other from taiwan.

One has more japanese sweat on the pcb than the other.
Luckily the other has more taiwanese sweat on it to make up for it.

I could go on, but it really would be easier to do a search on what the specific differences you want to know about.

Like if one was slightly less orange than the other.

Personally, I would never use a stock MIT DS1 ever. No more. Its just horrid to me.

I got a nice MIJ Ds1 and thats what really rocks.

hehe i woulden even use one, unless it was the tube clip mod like wat ark did or if its in bright purple =). But i might change my mind if shred would lend me his MIJ for a couple or err... months. =)
