Hi,

anyone knows what are the black taping around the stick

lots of jrock drummers do this.. but i rarely see english drummer use it.. seems to be for better grip...

Cos Jrockers or visual kei drummers tend to have make up melting and dripping thru their hands, guess tat tape improves their grip. :lol:

hmm an OOT thing.. i bought vater sticks before and some of their sticks(of the same type) actually weights differently... its kinda obvious enough to be notiec just by one hold... guess their quality control isnt very good considering their price haha

if grip is your concern... you can check out stick wax from drum resource

to prevent slipping-offs? the rubber acts as friction when they are in ur hands. but this kinda drumsticks are usually heavier than others.

if u can get a good tape like the vater want , not much diffrence in weight :wink:

vater finger / drumstick tape cost $6.50 at music theme , they say on the packet can use for 5 pairs of sticks , and one thing that is good about it , the tape is not sticky , so it doesnt leave a stain on your sticks if u need to take it out :wink:

mm what i did once was, i went to sportslink and i got myself tennis racket grips.. 3dollars for a pair. enough for 2pairs of sticks.. sticks get a lill fatter after that thou

but they are thicker ... lols .... 6.50 for 4 to 5 pairs cannot hahahs ... i think i will not get the tennnis one it is thicker can may be heavier ... the drum stick one is lighter and when i peel off there won't be the sticky sticky thingy hahahas peace ........... :lol:
