Drum Sampler

Hi guys.

Need to ask some questions here.

Ok, here goes.

I wanna do some drum recordings for an album. And I want to mix both acoustic drum sounds as well as sampled sounds. How do I go about doing this?

Based on some research, I found using acoustic drum triggers. But don't quite understand how they work.

Say i have a kit all set up. Each piece is miked properly. Overheads are done and all that. So i just place the triggers on each piece. What do I route the triggers into? I understand this triggers would be converted to MIDI data and into the computer. Could you guys recommend me something for this setup. Preferably cheap as well, currently on a low budget as I'm getting other gear too. But reliable and long lasting as well.
Something that works well with a MacBook Pro running Logic. Using BFD2 as the sampler.

Currently saw these equipment,

Alesis Trigger I/O
ddrum acoustic triggers.
Roland Acoustic Drum Triggers.

Thanks guys! (:

Cheers,
Keith.

No problem for acoustic kit, just mic up.

All you need to do now is attach those triggers to the drum head.

The triggers will pick up what you play and translate the hits as MIDI note data including velocity... like playing drums on an electronic keyboard.

This data will be sent to the drum module. (Trigger I/O, DM5/6 TD7, TD9, TD20 etc)

The module will then send the data from it's MIDI Out port to your MIDI interface.

Which will send to Mac - BFD.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Appreciate it.

Anyway, yupp understood that. Actually wanna know what you guys recommend. Like which trigger i should get and which drum module i should buy.

Thanks.
