Drop Tuning Qn

Pardon for my n00bishness,
So far I've been using standard tuning and I wanna explore the different tunings after hearing Bullet For My Valentine who frequently uses Drop C Tuning. I've done a little Wiki to help myself. So, I wanna ask some questions before I begin drop tuning to my guitar:

1) Drop D is from E-A-D-G-B-E' to D-A-D-G-B-E' (Wiki). So therefore when I'm using my tuner, do I tune the Low E string into D note?

2) Drop C is from E-A-D-G-B-E' to C-G-C-F-A-D' (Wiki). So do I have to tune all of the strings into C-G-C-F-A-D' ?

3) I wanna tune half-step down (E♭-A♭-D♭-G♭-B♭-E♭). Does it mean I tune halfway between Drop D Tuning and Standard Tuning?

I would appreciate if you guys can help me out by answering these qns...
Thank you....

1) Yup.

2) Yup.

3) Nope. Drop D means drop the tuning of the 6th string by a whole step, ie E -> D. Tuning half step down is a totally different thing cause its tuning all the strings a half step down. Drop C is similar to drop D in the sense that all strings are first down tuned by a whole step, then the 6th string is downed by another whole step.

1) yes
2) yes
3) no.half-step(E♭-A♭-D♭-G♭-B♭-E♭) is between DGCFAD and EADGBE aka between 1 step and standard.

Wait, I tried to Drop Tuning just now. Managed to get Drop D Tuning, but couldn't complete the Drop C Tuning. Especially the C-x-C-F-x-x' part. However, I managed to get x-G-x-x-A-D'. I don't think my tuner has the F and C tuning.
How do I achieve that?

What about drop tuning in floyd rose? Does it require setup or can I just tune E to D using the tuner?

No la you too advanced already... You forgot that only chromatic tuners show all notes! Haha guitar tuners still show (dumbly for dunno what reason) A, B, D, E and G

So to answer his question, simple... Tune the C and F strings by the relative method!

haha.okay.if still dont know how to tune to desired tuning.download a tuning software off the net.

Hold on, my tuner does have a Chromatic function. I do see all the notes, C-D-E-F-G-A-B.
So does that mean I switch to Chromatic function and tune the open Low E String until it becomes C and open G String into F (Drop C Tuning)?

I already tuned to E-G-D-G-A-D (incomplete Drop C Tuning).
Now I'm left with the Low E String, the D String and the G String to Get C-G-C-F-A-D.
So using the chromatic function on the open Low E String, Open D String and Open G String will get me the complete C-G-C-F-A-D right?

Ok, finally I got my Dropped Tuning.
Thanks for the guidance so far.
Really appreaciate it...

PS: My tuner which I have been using for half a year, I didn't know what the chromatic function was for =P

Oh okay, chormatic function is the normal tuner function... Guitar tuning function is just a dummified way of preventing players from getting confused. But using chromatic function all the time is good!

Whoa! My High E String snapped when I was about to Drop C Tuning to it. I've been switching the tunings for the strings about 3 times over 4 hours, and I just bought that Super Slinky Set 2 days ago.

Will strings easily snap because of constant change of tuning? Or is it just because of the string?

If you are drop tuning or detuning, why not get heavier gauge strings. Because .009 - .042 sure won't cut it for downtuning. I recommend that you get the .011/.012 - .052 strings.
