Dressing on Stage

Definitely

Some bands might not think it's important. But a good representation of ourselves on stage helps to:

1) set a direction to the audience as to what to expect.

2) create that vibe of you as the "entertainer" and the audience as "to be entertained".

3) psychologically prepares you for your show.

... among other things.

clothes don't matter unless u have a plan(e.g slipknot, or u have like a band theme). No plan, just anyhow lah. Go on stage and thrash the stage!!

I think it's important to at least dress appropriately. Slippers/sandals on stage is a big no-no. Performers should not look sloppy, like they are going downstairs to buy a packet of chicken rice. I think as performers, dressing appropriately (put in some effort, please) is showing respect for your audience.

Of course, dressing up has to come with musicianship as well. No point dressing up and playing horribly.

^ so true.
Well, rock musicians = nice T-shirt and jeans would be presentable enough.
any more than that, you will need to plan properly so that you won't look like you're going out for Prom or a business meeting.

dress up like manson and scare the shit out of the people on the train... make every show day halloween!

make sure you're comfortable, because being restricted on stage, especially with burning hot stage lights and humidity, will affect your performance. =)

in my opinion,u shld look decent at the least...dressing up further depends on the scale of the event to me la..well,ur there for the music arent u so let tat be the 1st ting ppl pay attention to not ur eyeliner or red tie....the best musicians i seen in singapore i nvr seen dressed up...like,hmmm jon chan!seen him in tie at gigs?

plain T, shorts, sandals.. Clapton style lol...
Aiyah as long as you dont make a fool of yourself can already right...

haha, when i was at JET concert,Nic just wore slippers i guess?
but i do agree the dressing on stage presents alot.
i went to see yeah yeah yeahs and karen o's wicked costums just impressed me,,like she always does.

Need to endure that the band's overall dressing is in sync... It'll be weird if one comes in spiderman costume while another comes in astronaught suit and i go in tarzan outfit...

Okok, dressing weird is also a "theme" so i guess its not that bad.. But make sure the band dresses up comparitively the "same".

There's a difference. If you have already attained that 'rock star' status like JET, you can wear anything (or not wear anything) and people will still worship you! LOL

Totally agree....

And....pls keep the shirts on.....very not pro if the place or atmosphere is not appropriate
