Dream cymbals? [Bliss, Contact, Energy]

Anyone else been looking at these?
Sounds really good to me man, at those prices.

"Dream cymbals are a line of hand-crafted instruments from Wuhan, China, that come remarkably close to THAT sound. Chinese cymbal smiths have been creating forged percussion instruments for millennia and Dream cymbals represent the pinnacle of Chinese b20 bronze working. Dream cymbal smiths have taken the best characteristics of increasingly expensive vintage K Istanbul and Avedis Zildjian cymbals from the 1940’s & 1950’s to create responsive, high-quality plates, at a very inexpensive price.

Dream cymbals come in three lines:

The Bliss Series are thin, hand shaped and hammered, b20 cymbals that come close to the classic ‘K Istanbul’ sound.

The Contact Series are slightly heavier, hand shaped and hammered, b20 cymbals that sound similar to vintage A’s from the 1940’s and 1950’s.

The Energy Series are machine hammered b20 cymbals that are darker versions of modern Zildjian A’s and A Customs. "

*sigh* why did they have to spoil the nice looks of the energy series with the "wuhan look-alike" logo....their normal ones looks decent but with that other logo...what a pity...

i have not personally tried these cymbals yet,but judging by the sound files uploaded by people on the internet,it sounds pretty good.BUT we can never tell how it would ACTUALLY sound in real life can we?haha

hope more drummers in our community get to explore and familiarize with more of these "uncommon" cymbals :)
but with the help of weckl,im sure its just a matter of time :)

Yah man, I agree with you, the 'wuhan' type font is really damn ugly.

Haha, churnz, you've too much faith in me. I was actually thinking of doing a mini-mass order if there's interest (myself included)... and if there's REALLY interest, try to work out a good deal with the distributor Mountain Rhythm for a local dealership.

But of course, I don't have a shop or anything, just someone who believes the local drumming community deserves much better.

What better than REAL hand-hammered quality pies that are 1/2 or even 1/3 of the price of the the Big Three's offerings? The Bliss are as close many of us will get to an Old K in our lifetime, methinks.

I have no idea it'll work out if it really goes that way, run this with an internet shopfront from my bedroom? *shrug* I doubt it though, from what it seems so far, there are too few who'll move their brand loyalty.

haha great.a mini-mass order.hey if you have msn please pm your email add. so we can chat :)

looking forward to the bliss but first and foremost,i want to finnish collecting paiste sig. series @_@.costs a bomb ><

My Opinion:-

I think the prices are absurd for Made In China Cymbals. I believed they are made in Wuhan China which has many many Cymbals Manufacturer...these are below avearge Cymbals I would say...and the sound - I don't think they are good at all.

The Wuhan Brand is from Wuhan Chin...it's just a Brand Name printed just like this case.

With that kind of prices stipulated.......better buy Bosphorus or MasterWorks....which sound so much better...and is indeed value for money cymbals.

Yes... Bosphorus... the most affordable Turkish made cymbals in Singapore... 8)

RudimentalDrummer, do post a picture of your Bosphorus cymbal tree with the cymbals...

Well sometimes it's the sound that matters. My range of cymbals has been drastically minimized due to the fact that singapore only brings in a few brands, other brands like stagg, scs and even dream are not available. Therefore sound wise, we do not have much of a choice other as i only buy cymbals that i've tried personally.

:

It is true that Bosphorus is the most Value-For-Money Cymbal available in Singapore (where Sound equate MOney Spend).......because Bosphorus prices in Singapore can be sold in Australia, USA, England for much much higher prices...this is true...check up DrummerWorld.

But if - MasterWorks were to be marketed here - It should and will be cheaper than Bosphorus Cymbals. I know the sound is nice for MasterWorks but only for a certain range - not all the range....But Bosphorus - all their range of Cymbals are beautiful and the service provided by Accent Music (the 2 Cha-Bo there) is excellent.

Cheers !

RudimentalDrummer... we met on the day you bought the cymbal tree at Accent. I am the one who ordered the Antique 22" Flat Ride which you said sounds better than the higher range series.

Thanks for the invite. Will invite you in return to see, touch and listen... 8)
