Doom Metal - Needs Recognition

mm yeah was introduced to them last year. i think they're great to chill out to!

Kinda grew out of the band... But nonetheless, still a great band from Australia...

What kind of doom are you interested in? The ones you mentions like Cathedral and Swallow the Sun is definitely ones that listeners should look out for..

Also, if you have the older Cathedral songs, try listening to the newer ones also..

If you like traditional old school doom, maybe bands like Pentagram, Pagan Altar, Saint Vitus would be a good choice.

For death doom, maybe you could listen to some old Katatonia, Morgion and Evoken..
Alot more to that also...

Doom has alot of its branches like stoner/sludge, funeral and drone doom. Listen to which you like the most.. I just love them all! =)

I think doom is not likely to get great recognition because nowadays metalheads seem to be into fast, long shred-fest solos with sweeps and all that... Less emphasis on nice, heavy riffs these days...

I love doom, too, but NOT drone doom.

I'm not a big doom fan but i love MDB's as flower withers and turn loose the swans albums. bleak! Sunn O))) + Boris Altar is one mighty album! No one into Boris?!?!?!

Wata, yea... guitar goddess... the singer, you guys saw his 'bass' before? Double neck gibson SG. Bass on top, bottom half is guitar. Fierce!!!
