do share your amp preference- small/ stack/ virtual/ etc...

there are people here who are facing spatial constraints, others cite the need to contain noise but there is an increasing number of players who will not hesitate to equip themselves with bigger amps in their residences because they know what's good for them (not to mention, ways to prevent the police from coming over...).

space constraints is not a problem for me cos i can stack my amps :)

prefer 12" inch speakers cos they sound darker than those 8 or 10" speakers on the small practice amps.

Bro Sub...i`ll prefer to get huge tone from a small amp or rig...but that idea doesnt goes to well..hehe

so next option a tube combo amp wirth speaker extension capability.

For me, a sweet fully-tubed smaller wattage(15-30w) combo with 1x12" is more than satisfactory.
I am a happy man.

I'm with the practice grade...no reason for me to get anything higher 'coz I can't play it any louder.

if i had the cash, i'd definatle go for a 2×12 combo for home prac...

but since no... i'm left with no choice but a peavy envoy 1×10"

My home amp is not just for dull practising. It's also an immense source of enjoyment, pleasure and pure unadulterated delight! Hence, I see it fit to go beyond the 'practise' grade.

Plus, I can crank it during the afternoons and weekends.

I do agree *obviously* it's enjoyment...I mean, I'd love to have a half stack in my room...but even with my MG15CDR, if I crank it up to a 2, I'd probably be deaf by now...so yea, a half stack or something that needs to be cranked up to get a beautiful tone wouldn't suffice in my room unless it's a studio...

you can plug in your guitar into the pc? sheesh i didnt nkow..

the cable has a usb plug at one end?

anyway guys, can a 10W amp use effects pedals? ie, distortion etc?

actually, i'd prefer to have a home practise amp which is not too hard to carry around... as in, since i don't drive, everytime i need bring my amp out, i'd have to carry it to the MRT station or the bustop, which, fortunately, is only 5 mins awalk away from my house...

if i had a 2×12 combo amp... which most prob would weight 50kg to 60 kg... errr... okay... i think it would permanently stay at home... haha

bad idea... okay, so i've changed my mind... maybe a good 1×12 combo would do for me... 20kg to 30kg, more managable

nothing big for me.. because i live in a high rise.
so i got something real small
i got the vox da5. Its 5 watts, but it has power switching option, which allows you to run at 0.5 w or 1.5 without losing any tone or clarity...
I run it at 0.5 watts and i can crank the volume 3/4 way up.
