I've got a Tacoma Thunderchief. It's pretty loud played acoustically. I find that an Acoustic Bass has its uses, especially if you want to practice without the hassle of having to plug in your bass, etc. or if you need to have a quiet practice.
I guess the question you need to ask yourself is why you would need one.
well, an acoustic bass is not very loud when played acoustically but it's gd for acoustic sessions or practice. Usually most of these comes with a preamp built in. For the prices, davis guitar sells a fina acoustic bass with preamp for $400+, as well as ranking selling their J&D too.
actually is quite true..not worth it..if u are playing in a acoustic group..and u are the bassist..i suggest u shd use a classical guitar..sound good too..=D
even in an acoustic group... they sometimes use an electric bass ma... this is very very very subjective... read somewhere that a bassist wishing to explore in his art should own several types...
I not sure about the rates for Acoustic Guitars or Bass, but I can have approx value in my mind. The cost might be ranges from 200$ to 500$ based on the instrument.
